Welcome to the new-look Seaton Delaval website.  The aim of this site is to promote the history of Seaton Delaval as seen through the eyes of local people.

There are two main sections in the site.  'Our History' shows a map of the original village; together with information about Seaton Delaval Hall; the Church of Our Lady; The Delaval Family and an archive of old photographs.

The 'Information' section gives details of shopping - old and new - in the village; local links; and special items of interest.  Currently these include a tribute to Lord Hastings who sadly died last year and Lady Hastings passing away a view months later.  Also a report of the findings of a dowser who visited the Hall and The Church of Our Lady.

Your contributions to the site are very welcome and there are several ways to do this.  Firstly, send in any old photographs that you have to be included in the 'photographs' section.  These can be sent electronically, but if this isn't possible contract the webmaster to make alternative arrangements.  Secondly if you would like to display your own collection of Seaton Delaval photographs then this can be arranged.  For example see the 'Gibson collection' under 'Information'.  Finally, join in discussions via the message board and a new feature - the chat room.

Many, many thanks to all contributors to the site, especially those who return regularly providing information and memories about our village.  It is your input that keeps this local resource lively and interactive.
