The founder of the Arrighi Ice Cream Parlour, Carlos Arrighi in 1930. The café is now run by his daughters, and it is still the best ice cream in Northumberland.

J & B Miller built the shop in 1910. The manager and staff at the time. The Seaton Valley Co-op is one of the only few privately own co-operative stores left in England.
